Octopyd is a complete AI-first recruitment platform. Most teams adopt Octopyd directly. You can also run Octopyd’s agents alongside Ashby, and the Ashby integration is designed to make a move from Ashby to Octopyd easy, keeping candidates and history in sync while you transition. Ashby is an unusually complete recruiting operating system; where Octopyd goes further is an explicit decision-learning loop:

  1. Ivy builds a transparent, weighted evaluation framework for the specific role.
  2. Hiring-manager decisions change the criteria and weighting, rather than only generating another report or prompt.
  3. The full candidate pool is re-evaluated and directly ranked against the improved framework.
  4. Multiple models cross-check the result, and Ivy flags potentially unsupported résumé claims.
  5. Levi, Nova, Evie, and Arvo apply the same evolving context across sourcing, engagement, rediscovery, and interview operations.
  6. A candidate Talent Portal, ownership-review controls, and optional White Glove expert support round out the platform.

Octopyd stands on its own. Alongside Ashby or during a transition, it adds a hiring-manager-adaptive decision model that gets sharper with each decision.

How it works

Published by Octopyd and reviewed in July 2026. Ashby capabilities are based on official Ashby product pages, knowledge-base documentation, pricing information, product updates, and security materials. Ashby has rapidly expanded its AI functionality, including Ashby Assistant, custom agents, AI-assisted application review, AI Talent Rediscovery, AI Notetaker, and candidate fraud detection; this comparison should be re-reviewed regularly. “Not established” means an equivalent native capability was not found in the official materials reviewed; it does not prove Ashby cannot support the need through configuration, a custom agent, an integration, a private release, or a future update. Feature availability varies by Ashby plan, add-on, AI-credit allocation, texting-credit allocation, configuration, and release status. Octopyd capabilities also depend on the selected modules and implementation scope. Octopyd can run as a standalone ATS or alongside external applicant tracking systems, but when connected to Ashby, the production connector, supported objects, data direction, and workflow ownership must be confirmed before relying on native-integration claims, and Ashby's SOC 2 certification and FairNow governance work do not extend to Octopyd. AI should support human judgment; authorized people remain responsible for hiring decisions.
